9 Tips for Advertising Your Business Online

Advertising your business online is more than just throwing up a website. It also doesn't matter if you want to run a business strictly online or if you're bringing your brick and mortar business online. Both types will benefit by doing the same type of advertising online. Many people want to put their offline business on the Internet but don't know how to go about getting people, outside of their current local customers, to visit their site. This is basically the same with those starting a business strictly online. You want your site to get noticed by people all over the world, not just those you've told "Hey, we've got a website now."

Here are just a few ways you can advertise your business online. Read more »

I am feeling a little overwhelmed… I think I need Alice Seba!

It is monday and it has been a long day… I am feeling a bit overwhelmed with the amount of work that I need to accomplish. Do you ever feel overwhelmed, like you will never get to the bottom of your 'to do' list. I definitely do. I will be working on a project and think of a great addition or something to make the project even better. So that gets added to the bottom of my ever growing 'to do' list.

Anyone who knows me, is a member of my Work at Home Directory, probably knows that I am a big fan of Alice Seba and her Internet Marketing Sweetie products. Before creating my directory in 2006, I studied Alice's teachings regarding building a website, search engine optimization, keyword research and so much more. I am so thankful that I did things right the first time and excited that our directory is thriving. We are about to reach a huge milestone this month with over 10,000 visitors, a lot coming from the major search engines.  Read more »

Could a Direct Sales Business be the right choice for you? How do you choose?

There are so many choices available today as far as home based businesses go.
There are literally hundreds of choices. So how do you know if a direct sales
business is right for you?

Many people find the direct sales opportunities as a great way to run their own
business. Whether it’s because of the low start up costs, the fun they have
selling certain products, or the security their offered by having a big company
behind there efforts, a direct sales company is a very viable and possibly
profitable business.

The question many people interested in starting a direct sales business is “How
do I know which one to choose?” With the growth of direct sales companies
rising, it’s a legitimate question to have, too. Here are a few tips to help you
make the right choice for you.

1. What types of products do you enjoy using yourself?

For instance, if you have a love for candles, then you’ll most likely enjoy
selling them more than you would something else.

2. Are the company, including those who will be part of your upline (team)
helpful and supportive to those new to the business?

You can find this out by checking the amount of information that’s available to
those interested in joining, but don’t stop there. Talk to a representative and
ask lots of questions. You’ll get a feel for how well they work with others when
you do. Another thing you can do is to call the company directly and ask
questions that way. Many times direct sales teams are great, but the company
itself won’t always have information available for their consultants which makes
it difficult to grow a business.

3. What are the costs involved?

Determine the amount necessary to not only purchase a starter kit, but also how
things work if you need to return items or order more products. Are you allowed
to return items if you they aren’t selling? Are you required to hold an
inventory or do you only order from the company when someone places an order
with you?

4. What marketing material is available to you?

Not only what does the company provide you, but also what are the rules should
you want to create your own materials to promote your business? Some companies
will not allow you to have a website or create business cards unless they have
certain things on them. Others won’t allow you to use their logos/names on any
outside promotional material.

5. Are there certain quotas you must meet?

If so, can you meet those quotas and how will you meet them?

These are only a few of the things you should consider when determining which
direct sales opportunity is most beneficial and profitable for you. Use these 5
ideas to think of others and most importantly, don’t choose a company based on
only one thing. Do in depth research of various companies before deciding on
one.
